So who was it?
By now you have heard that traces of the industrial chemical melamine have been detected in samples of top-selling U.S. infant formula. The FDA said the levels found were very low and "safe". This, after the FDA originally said there was no safe level for these contaminants in infant formula. And of course, no recalls were issued.
Not only that, but we apparently can't even get the names of the formula companies where the trace levels were found. That's just great. Between the BPA in the bottles, the lead in the vinyl bibs, and now the melamine in the formula, feeding your baby just got a lot more scary. And at least with the bottles and the bibs, we knew who to avoid.
