Meet The Man Pram

That's right, the MAN Pram. UK baby gear company Mamas & Papas (co-brand of Peg Perego) has invented a new kind of stroller just for dads. It will be the first of many father-friendly products that the company will be putting out next year. The company wants it's buyers to know that they understand all too well how most baby products only appeal to women. So they are doing something different.

As part of a "Future Father" project created by Mamas & Papas Design Director, Nigel Plested, the Research & Development team of designers at the M&P were tasked with answering the anticipated requirements of 21st Century Man. From this project emerged the "Man Pram", the new wave of stroller that will meet the demands of dads in the next decade.

So what's it got? Well let me tell you!

- It's powered by a PEM fuel cell. So very green.

- No keys needed. It uses biometric fingerprint recognition.

- It has a storage section in front of dads’ feet (no messy bulky bags/dirty nappies – fuss-free storage).

- Runs flat - all weather, all terrain types.

- It has a parking proximity sensors for optimal safety & space.

- Adjustable, flexible handle that are mouldable & adjustable for different dad heights.

- Gyroscopic sensors control turning (lean to turn).

- Dad's got a display screen on top that with a touch screen and built-in organiser, Satellite Navigation and GPS tracking system, Music system, Web browser, Wi-Fi, Baby Vision monitor (appears in corner of screen), and RFID reader to pick up local information (shops, parking, toilets, changing, parks, attractions).

- Baby also has a display screen with a Dad Vision monitor (appears in corner of screen), Interactive games, Speaker system for music or audio link., DVD player, andEQ & IQ narrative and content programmes.

- Baby's seat unit is multi-position, climate controlled with internal environment, UVA and UVB ray membrane (no sunburn/sunscreen required for baby), Photochromism (polymer dispersed liquid crystal device) to turn bubble over seat from transparent to opaque (for light/temperature protection), • Thermochromism material to control temperature inside bubble, and converts into toddler seat as the child grows.
