Celebrity mom and soap star, Alison Sweeney, helped Thermos launch their official Hydration For All website at the ABC Kids Expo. The new site was made to educate families on the importance of staying properly hydrated and healthy. This is actually a bigger issue than most people know, especially for children. Here in Louisville we recently had a death of a 15-year-old high school football star due to dehydration on the field. Sadly, many young athletes don't realize that water intake has to be equal to or greater than water lost through perspiration.
We spoke with Alison about this and why she wanted to be involved with Thermos in the Hydration For All website.
Alison, who is also a judge on the Biggest Loser, became concerned with water intake after getting involved with the weight lose show. Many people don't realize how important it is to your body to stay hydrated during exercise, and also to have the right type of hydration which is water. Soft drinks, energy drinks, and sports drinks usually contain sugar and sometimes caffeine and guarana. That's why we need plain old cold water, and Thermos has the best products to help us out with that.
Alison really likes Thermos's products for her son Benjamin because they are all BPA-Free and they keep food and drinks at the right temperature, which avoids potentially dangerous bacteria from forming. Her son has all the Foogo products and she also bought a new set for her daughter due in January.
Alison was also very excited about Thermos's partnership with the Charity: Water program. Chairty: Water helps to bring clean drinking water to developing nations. On Thermos's new Hydration For All website, there is a link to Charity: Water's stie where you can donate and get involved.
Before Alison left us, she let us in on some news about her daughter. She doesn't have a name picked out yet, but there are several she likes. Her nursery is being designed by Bellini and the bedding is from Serena and Lily.
